Jessica Walter of ‘Arrested Development’ Fame Dies at 80

Emmy nominated Jessica Walter for her portrayal in Arrested Development. She had been acting for the last six decades. Walter died in NYC, where she used to live.

The legendary actress took her last breath Wednesday while she was sleeping. Her daughter did not comment on the reason behind her death yet.

Jessica Walter played Lucille Bluth in 84 episodes of the series ‘Arrested.’ The show ran from 2003 and ended in 2019. She was in the supporting actress nomination ( comedy) list of Emmy in 2005.

Jason Bateman said that Jessica Walter had an impeccable career with incredible performances. He will always cherish moments with her. Bateman used to watch her amazing talent portray Lucille Bluth. He extends his condolences to her family.

Tony Hale said that Walter was a strong force. No one can match up to her skills. The timing of her acting was amazing. He wishes her soul to be in peace.

Will Arnett said that he would miss his beloved co-actor who acted in Arrested. He said that she was such a rare talent. They met in 1996, and he was in amazement from the first moment. He calls himself fortunate enough to see her success since the last 25 years from very close. He seemed condolences to Walter’s daughter Brooke and her grandson Micah.

The 80 years old actress first won Emmy back in 1975 for lead actress. It was for the NBC series “Amy Prentiss.” She was nominated for her portrayals in The Streets of San Francisco as well as “Trapper John, MD.”

Film buffs will remember her for “Play Misty for Me”, too. It was the debut direction of Clint Eastwood. Jessica lent her voice for the anime series Archer and played Malory Archer. It was a very successful show on FX.

Brooke Bowman hopes to continue her mother Jessica Walter’s legacy

Jessica lived with her daughter. The senior vice President (programming) of FX entertainment Brooke Bowman confirmed her mother’s death news, releasing a statement. She said that her mother used to be a great storyteller on and off-screen both ways.

Bowman said that she would try to live up to her mother’s expectation to go forward with the legacy which Jessica created. Her mother’s wit and sophistication were unmatchable.

Jessica’s family requests everyone to donate to the Guide Dogs and help those visually impaired people instead of spending flowers on her deathbed.
